Cleaning Rudraksha Beads

Cleaning Rudraksha Beads

  • Prepare Cleaning Solution: Fill a small bowl with lukewarm water. You may add a small amount of mild soap if the beads are particularly dirty. However, using soap is optional and should be done sparingly to avoid damaging the beads.
  • Soak Rudraksha Beads: Submerge the rudraksha beads in the lukewarm water and let them soak for a few minutes. This will help loosen any dirt or debris adhering to the surface of the beads.
  • Gently Clean: After soaking, use a soft cloth or sponge to gently wipe each bead, removing any dirt or residue. Be gentle to avoid damaging the delicate surface of the beads.
  • Scrub if Necessary: For stubborn dirt or debris, you can use a soft-bristle brush to gently scrub the surface of the beads. Take care not to apply too much pressure to avoid scratching the beads.
  • Rinse Thoroughly: Once cleaned, rinse the rudraksha beads thoroughly under running water to remove any soap residue or remaining dirt.
  • Dry Completely: Pat the beads dry with a clean, soft cloth. Ensure that they are completely dry before storing them to prevent mold or mildew growth.
  • Optional: Apply Essential Oil: If desired, you can apply a small amount of essential oil, such as sandalwood or frankincense, to the beads. This not only adds a pleasant fragrance but also helps condition and preserve the beads.
  • Store Properly: Store the cleaned rudraksha beads in a clean, dry place away from moisture and direct sunlight. You can also store them in a fabric pouch or wooden box to protect them from dust and damage.
